SANFL Super 70's Weekend! |
 |
|
Saturday July 29th, 2.20pm |
|
 |

|
Round 17, Central take on South at Hamra Homes Oval which will
see the Bulldogs compete in the old style 70’s guernsey in a one-off match
to commemorate SANFL 70’s Round. This Guernsey was worn by the club until 1979
when we changed to the white-style Guernsey.
At the conclusion of this match the match-worn guernseys will be auctioned on
ebay to raise funds to support our junior football program in the northern community.
Lock this date away in your diary and come and see the Bulldogs as we saw them
many years ago when the crowd wore flares and listened to Hot Chocolate & Daddy
Cool.

Round 14: Down But Not Out |
 |
|
8/7/2006 |
|
 |
Central 12.4(76) def. by Eagles 14.16(100)
In a tough encounter at Woodville Oval, Central District conceded the final four
goals of the match late to lose by 24 points to form side Woodville West Torrens.
Outplayed early, the Bulldogs showed plenty of resolve to match it with the home
team, with perhaps the previous week's hard slog against West taking its toll, against
the Eagles who sat out the shocking conditions with a bye. Read

15/4/2006 |
|
 |
Centrals 7.11(53) def. by Glenelg 22.16(148)
Central District put up a second rate performance against Glenelg at Adelaide
Oval last Saturday, and paid the penalty, going down by 95 points. The Bulldogs had
already lost six premiership players from last season, with 25 premiership medals
between them, then the absence of Daniel Schell (3 medals), Nathan Steinberner (5),
Stuart Cochrane (2), Richard Cochrane (3), Brad Currie (3), Adam Switala (1), and
Luke McCabe (1) compounded the problem. Read

the Bulldogs started where they left off last season, with a victory. The 56-point
thumping of Sturt was witnessed by 7329 supporters, which is one of the largest home

Ball Persons Required |
 |
|
15/3/2006 |
|
 |
The Club is seeking 2 persons aged 13-15 to act as ball persons
at all games throughout the season.
With the introduction of the new rule whereby the full-back can kick in immediately
a point is scored, a second ball is required to be on hand behind the goals at all
times.
We are therefore seeking young persons to become permanent officials for the year – one
to operate when the League team is playing and one when the Reserves are playing.
Anyone interested, please contact CEO Kris Grant at
the Club on 8255 2555. |

Trial Game Changes |
 |
|
7/3/2006 |
|
 |
The trial game for Saturday 11th March verses Norwood at Kersbrook has had
to be changed. Unfortunately on inspection, both clubs found some relaying of turf
and the covering of the concrete cricket wicket had not settled enough to ensure
the players' safety. Kersbrook had done a great job but the oval won't be safe enough
by Saturday. Also, as it is expected to be 38 C on Saturday (and the league was to
start at 4pm, the hottest part of the day) Norwood has changed this home game to
a night game at Norwood Oval (Coopers Stadium).
Reserves start at 5.15pm and the league at 8.00pm. While disappointed we hope everyone
will still get down to cheer on the Dogs.
Also, our last trial game against North Adelaide on 25th March will be under lights
at Hamra Homes Oval Elizabeth. The reserves with be starting at 4.45pm, with the
league starting at 7.30pm. Everyone is encouraged to preview what will be fabulous
footy, under lights, at Hamra Homes Oval.
Join us, and be part of out quest for a record equaling (only Port has done it
before in the SANFL) seventh Grand Final and our fourth premiership in a row. |
