2 More Recruits

Central District is pleased to welcome two more recruits to the kennel for 2014.

Johann Wagner - a 23 year old forward from Port Lincoln who stands at 190cm. Selected in South Australia's Country Representative side in 2013 he kicked 8 goals in SA Country's fixture against Western Australia. He is a quick leading forward who is also known for applying defensive pressure.

Jacob Olssen - a 22 year old ruckman who stands at 198cm and weighs 102kgs. Olssen is very athletic for his size and comes to the Bulldogs from Country NSW (Ganmain Grong Grong Matong). Olssen has also played a few games for GWS (Greater Western Sydney) as a top-up player to their senior squad.

The Club is excited to officially welcome Johann and Jacob. Their additions complement the new recruits already announced which include former North Melbourne Ruckman 22 year old Ben Mabon, former Power Rookie Justin Hoskin, 22, Former Crows and Sturt Midfielder/Forward Tim McIntyre, 24 and sizeable former Brisbane Lions and Box Hill Forward Bryce Retzlaff, 22.

These signings go a long way to refreshing our list and building a healthy and strong base to have a serious tilt at the 2014 season.

Centrals coaching and recruiting staff have worked extremely hard, identifying the need to re-invigorate a squad that has failed in its last two finals campaigns.

With the average age of many recruits being in their early 20s we hope our new players can settle in well, gel with our existing talented local players and build a platform for the Club's next era of success.

With many changes and player and Coaching movements across all Clubs, season 2014 is certainly shaping as an unpredictable one. Of all the SANFL Clubs Centrals is likely to be one of the least effected by AFL listed players making the move to their club of employment in 2014.

Centrals is also one of just three SANFL clubs in the SANFL that will have the same coach in 2014.

With the season kicking off on April 5th against the Eagles, all eyes will be on the new look side and exciting new look IGA League competition in 2014.
