Central District and Harlequin Remain Strong

The Central District Football Club and Central District Harlequin Netball Club have re-confirmed their support for one another recently and are both excited about the future.

Central District Football Club is the Netball Club's Major Sponsor and a partnership which continues to prosper sees the Netballers hold Club functions at 'Grand Central', frequent the Club regularly and often share Best Player Presentations with the Bulldogs on selected Saturday Nights after home matches.

The partnership is one which sees 2 of the largest sporting Clubs in the area sharing Clubrooms and paves the path towards the long-term mooted plan to see the area surrounding the Bulldogs address on Goodman Rd through Reserves to the East through to Main North Road as a 'Sporting Hub'.

Central District Harlequin competes in the Netball SA State League Competition and fields up to 15 teams in competitions at Netball SA Stadium and over 20 more teams in the Elizabeth Netball Association.

It is great to see the Football Club supporting the Netball Club, and in turn the Netball Club and its Members supporting the Football Club.

The Harlequin Netball Club was established in 1967 as a founding member club at
Argana Park, Elizabeth.
Since early in the 1980’s the Club has been the largest and most successful in the
Elizabeth Netball Association for both team and individual player achievements.
The Club progressed from fielding one junior team in the South Australian Netball
Association in 1996, to achieving the highest honour of State League status in 2003.
State League is the very highest level of elite netball in South Australia.
In 1998, the Club formed a strategic alliance with the Central District Football Club,
seeing the Club being renamed to the Central District Harlequin Netball Club.
This alliance has seen the Club grow significantly, to now fielding up to 15 teams at
Netball SA Stadium and over 20 teams in the Elizabeth Netball Association competitions.
