Central Zone Carnival - Country Development Squad

The Country Development Squad took part in the Central Zone Carnival held at Two Wells on Sunday 27th May.

The Barossa Light and Gawler Football Association is our only country association. The Barossa Light and Gawler boys played against the Adelaide Plains, North Eastern Football League, Northern Areas Football Association and the Yorke Peninsula Football League.

The squad has been training over the past 7 weeks, alternating between the Freeling Football Club Oval and Willaston Football Club for training venues.

The squad is coached by Alan Norton, with assistance from Chris Reichelt and Marty Rosenzweig. This program forms a very important part of the talent pathway for the country players, which leads into the State Championships being held in the second week of the July school holidays.

The country squad will next play the Metro Under 15’s, on Thursday 7th June, after the Under 18’s have trained at My Money House Oval starting at 7:15pm.

The Under 15’s went through the zone Carnival undefeated.
