JACKSON HATELY WINS THE 2018 POWERADE BREAKTHROUGH PLAYER AWARD
Jackson Hately has won the 2018 Powerade Breakthrough Player Award for Season 2018, following his Round 5 nomination.
Coming to the Club from Trinity College, Hately made his League debut in Round 1, at just 17 years of age, finishing with 22 possessions and a goal on debut in the Bulldogs 61 point win over North Adelaide.
Hately featured as a major contributor in the midfield and up forward in this year’s Under 18 National Championships. He was then named in the 2018 NAB AFL Under 18 All Australian Team.
With the exception of his commitments to the Under 18 National Championships, Hately played in all other League matches.
In winning the Powerade Breakthrough Player Award, Jackson receives $2,000 in prize money and a trophy courtesy of SANFL Premier Partner Coca-Cola.
Jackson Hately is the sixth Central District player to pick up such an award – previously known as the League Star Search Award – which has been won by Jarrod Schiller (2011), Paul Marschall (2012), Josh Glenn (2013), Travis Schiller (2014) and Chris Jansen (2015).
