Recent Novita Match Raises over $8000 for Children's Charity

Central District Football Club's recent Novita Game as part of the SANFL Good Guys Charity Round raised close to $8,500 for our official Charity Partner Novita Children's Services

The relationship between Central District Football Club and Novita began in 2009, when Novita was looking to attract some ambassadors of significant profile to support its 70th anniversary celebrations. Since then, every year Central District has hosted a Novita Home Game at Playford Alive Oval in Elizabeth. This match grants Novita brilliant opportunities to raise both funds and awareness for Novita.

Central District Football Club’s recent Novita Home Game on 10 May 2014 raised $8,462.77 for Novita from various activity such as: gate collections, match day raffles, an auction at our Pre-Match Luncheon, a generous donation of $100 per Centrals League goal from Munno Para Foodland plus proceeds from the online auction of specially designed, match worn and signed player guernseys.

On Saturday 26 April versus South Adelaide the Novita star was also painted on the Oval turf for our televised match on Channel 7's main TV channel, and Novita client Bailey Campain had the privilege of performing the coin toss.

Everyone from Staff to Club Sponsors, Members and Supporters that took part in the activity/and or made kind and generous donations as part of the day need a big pat on the back! Your support is very much appreciated!

Former Central District players Chris and James Gowans played a starring role in launching Novita’s relationship with the Bulldogs back in 2009. Since the Gowans’ retirement, three-time SANFL premiership player Trent Goodrem has stepped up to become the spokesperson for Central District’s support for Novita. A young Novita client, Bailey, has become Novita’s ambassador for Central District matches.

Novita Children's Services (formerly the Crippled Childrens Association) celebrated their 75th Anniversary in 2014. If you wish to support Novita at any stage simply call 1300 668 482 (1300 NOVITA) or visit www.noivita.org.au

Each year Centrals League players also support Novita by attending the Annual 'Walk With Me Day' in September and other events such as the Novita Christmas Party. Our League and Reserves Teams proudly display the Novita Star Logo on their Playing Shorts year round. Over the past 4 seasons Central's have helped raise over $34,000 for Novita and the great work they do for children and families living with physical disabilities and acquired brain injuries.
