ROUND 18 MATCH WRAP UP -

The Under 18’s season came to a sudden halt with a loss to Norwood on the weekend.

Although it was a disappointing end to the year, the players and coaching staff should be proud of their efforts.

The year had its ups and downs as all seasons do.  To be in the finals race right to the last round was a good effort.

ROUND 17 MATCH WRAP UP -

The Under 18’s had a disappointing game against the Eagles on Saturday.

In such a crucial game, effort and attitude for three quarters was not what is required at this level.  By the last quarter, they kicked into gear.

This week's game is a do-or-die clash against Norwood at Coopers Stadium.  The winner of the game plays finals and the loser is finished for the season.

Central District     1-1   2-4   3-7   89-11   (59)

ROUND 16 MATCH WRAP UP -

The Under 18’s had an outstanding win over West Adelaide on Saturday at My Money House Oval.

Westies jumped out with the first 2 goals of the game. This must have shocked the boys into action, getting to the first break 2 goals up and from them they were never headed.

It was a fantastic team performance, especially with two late withdrawals due to sickness, from Senior players in Captain Mitchell Payne and Josh Spence.

Central District     5-3   12-4   21-4   28-9   (177)

The Under 18’s had a hard fought win over Sturt by 2 points, at My Money House Oval on Saturday.

In a game where no side could gain the ascendency, the young Bulldogs came from behind to get over the line.

Central District     2-2   5-7   8-9   11-12   (78)

ROUND 13 MATCH WRAP UP -

The Under 18’s had a fantastic 12-point win over West Adelaide on Saturday night, at City Mazda Stadium.

For the first 3 quarters it was a tight tussle.  In the last quarter they hit their straps by outscoring the opposition 5 goals to 2.

The pleasing thing is that there were six Under 16’s playing.  The draw certainly hasn’t been favourable with thos being their 4th away game in a row, and one more this week against Glenelg.

Central District
  2-1   4-3   6-7   11-10   (76)

ROUND 12 MATCH WRAP UP -

In what was an important game for the Under 18’s, the boys certainly didn’t show it in the first half.

The coaching staff were bitterly disappointed with their efforts on the weekend.

The players will have to bounce back pretty quickly and get their competitiveness back very quick.

Central District     0-3   1-4   6-7   8-8   (56)

Glenelg     1-1   7-7   9-7   13-10   (88)

ROUND 11 MATCH WRAP UP -

It was a case of so near but yet so far for the Under 18’s.

The young Under 18 side lost by 2 points to South Adelaide on Saturday.  For three and a half quarters they gave their all, but just couldn’t hold on.

The boys can be proud of their effort but they just need to be a little better in those crucial moments.

Central District   4-2   8-4   11-4   11-6   (72)

South Adelaide   1-1   3-5   6-10   10-14   (74)

GOALS - Ethan East 3, Tyson Richard 2, Daniel Roennfeldt 1, Jack Carpenter 1

ROUND 9 MATCH WRAP UP -

On Friday 1st June, the Under 18’s took on the Eagles under lights, at My Money House Oval.

Again, the side got away to a slow start with the Eagles getting the better of the Bulldogs in the first 20 minutes.

The pleasing thing is, the players never gave up.  With this being the half way point of the season, they will need to improve on their starts as well as their goal kicking, to have a shot at September action.

Central District   0-4   1-6   2-10   5-12   (42)

Eagles 5-2 9-4 11-7 14-9 (93)

Goals – Durdin, Pilkington, Milera, Carpenter, Glancey

Best – Spence, Cotgrove, Falland, Durdin, Richard, Carpenter

ROUND 8 MATCH WRAP UP -

The Under 18’s took on Norwood at My Money House Oval, on Saturday 26th May.
After a slow 10 minute start, the side hit its straps and recorded a good 75 point win.

Central District   5-0   9-4   13-8   17-10   (112)

Best – Jordan O’Brien, Jack Carpenter, Samuel Falland, Rhys Cannizzaro, Oliver Shaw, Mitchel Payne

ROUND 7 MATCH WRAP UP -

In what is a character building win for the Under 18’s, a slow start to the game worried the coaching staff.
At the quarter time break, Coach Shayne Collins told the players what he thought of the quarter, and to the players credit they responded.

Central District     2-1   4-3   7-3   11-8   (74)

Sturt     5-3   7-5   7-10 9-10 (64)

Goals – Lewellyn Milera, Malachai Ahmatt – Lovett 3, Tyson Richard 2, Rhys Sutton, Jack Carpenter, Leek Alleer 1

ROUND 6 MATCH WRAP UP -

A poor first quarter cost the Under 18’s their game against South Adelaide on Saturday.  After a rev up at quarter time, the Under 18’s outscored their opponents 8 goals to 7.

Central District   1-1   5-3   8-6   9-7   (61)

ROUND 5 MATCH WRAP UP -

In a game they controlled for the first half, it’s a game that got away from the Under 18’s.

The second half and the skill level was not up to the standards they have set in the first few weeks.

The players will have to bounce back quickly, as they are set to take on the top placed South Adelaide, at City Mazda Stadium this Saturday.

Central District   4-2   6-9   8-13   8-16   (64)

Goals – Richard 3, Lehman, Pilkington, Ahmatt – Lovett, Nietschke, Bonuedi 1

Best – Montgomerie, Nietschke, Payne, Ahmatt – Lovett, Arnold

ROUND 4 MATCH WRAP UP -

A slow start to the game saw Sturt jump out to a 4 goal head start, and the Under 18’s couldn’t peg the margin back.

The side never really got going until the last quarter, which was their most productive of the game.

Central District   0-2   4-5   4-6   8-9   (57)

Central District   6-2   9-6   12-10   17-13   (115)
